Hi friends! Doesn’t it feel like we were just barely celebrating the New Year and the start of 2017? And here it is, almost February and January has flown by! How are things going with your New Year’s resolutions or goals for this year? I kind of like to reassess every month on things like that, to see where I am at with my goals and then make changes or set new ones for each month. It’s a more reasonable way for me at least… setting monthly goals and plans instead of thinking of the year as a whole. That can often feel way too overwhelming!
If one of your goals or resolutions was to make more time for crafting or scrapbooking, I hope you are finding lots of great inspiration here! And in fact, Jessy has some good tips for you today if you find that you aren’t feeling very inspired or creative! Sometimes that’s just the problem — we have stepped away from something for so long that we aren’t sure where to start when we try to be creative again. Just like Jessy suggests, I recommend diving right in and let the products and the process spark your ideas and creativity as you go. You don’t need to have a full plan for what you are going to make when you start. Just get some supplies and go for it! Read on for Jessy’s darling layout and process!
Hello again! Do you find yourself out of mojo sometimes or just don’t know where to begin? Whenever I am in that state, I try to play around with embellishments and papers. I will layer my papers, add embellishments and reposition them as I go. This process will sometimes spark ideas or create a look that I never thought of doing in the first place. For this layout, that’s exactly what I did.
I started with a blue background paper and layered on the embellishments. I wasn’t happy with just the blue as my only background paper, so I cut more strips of other background papers with matching colors in mind and layered them together. The black & white dots sure elevated the fun colors! To finish it up, I splattered some gold mist for an artsy look. I really loved how bright and happy the layout turned out to be, just like my little bubba bear! I am still so in love with the embellishments in the Gather collection! There are just so many textures and beautiful designs to choose from!
