Have you ever wanted to create a page about something and you didn’t have any pictures to support the story you want to share? Sometimes this happens because you were having so much fun at an event and you simply forgot to take photos. Or maybe you were somewhere where photos were not allowed.
In my case recently, I wanted to do a page documenting all of the books I read in 2016. The problem was that I had read books on my Kindle, listened on Audible and had read borrowed paperback books. There really wasn’t an opportunity for me to capture all of these books in a couple of photos taken with my camera.
Today I want to share a quick and easy way for you to capture images that can be used on those layouts where you don’t have a picture ready to support your story.
A quick way to solve this problem is to take a screenshot on your phone of something that represents or give information to support your story.
For my layout, I took screenshots of my book lists in both the Audible and Kindle apps on my phone. They were then in my photos on my phone and I was able to upload those images to my computer and print the photos.
These photos were used to support my book list and made a perfect backdrop for the title on my page.
If your missing photo is from a concert you attended, possibly include a screenshot of the website featuring the venue where the concert took place. Or what about your love for taking night walks around your neighborhood? Maybe map the route on your phone and then take a screenshot of the map. There are so many possibilities for capturing images that can be shared on our layouts even if it isn’t a photo taken at an event.
Challenge yourself to think outside of just using photos taken on your camera and see what other images you might want to include on your next page. Next time you are missing a photo, think about what screenshot you could include on your layout.
